Zoom Whitening
The Smile Shack believes that your smile is important, because it's one of the first things that people notice about you. And a whiter, brighter smile can help you feel better about yourself and make a memorable first impression. Due to lifestyle choices, such as drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine, or smoking, and the aging process, teeth can become stained and darkened over time. Whitening your teeth using Zoom! has the power to make your smile look its best again.
The procedure is simple. It begins with a short preparation to cover your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed. The Smile Shack clinician then applies the Zoom! whitening gel, which was designed to be used specifically with the Zoom! light. The light and gel work together to gently penetrate your teeth, breaking up the stains and discoloration. During this time you can relax, watch TV, play games or listen to music. The gel is applied for three 15-minute sessions for a total of 45 minutes. At the end of your treatment, you go home with a brighter, whiter smile.

Composite Fillings
A common complaint patients have about their teeth is the presence of aging blackened silver fillings, which may feel fine, but look like cavities or deep stains. If you prefer a more natural look, Dr. Jeff can remove your old silver fillings and restore them using composite fillings, which are a mixture of about 75% ground glass or ceramic and 25% acrylic. Composites can be crafted in a wide range of tooth colors creating a nearly invisible restoration of teeth. Composite fillings, which are a fairly simple and inexpensive way to turn back the dental clock, are chemically bonded to your teeth, strengthening the structure of your teeth.

Porcelain Crowns
Porcelain crowns are precisely crafted in a dental laboratory of durable, stain-resistant and high-quality porcelain, which are virtually indistinguishable from your surrounding teeth and feel completely natural. The primary cosmetic purpose of the porcelain crowns is to cover (or cap) unattractive, permanently stained teeth, instantly transforming your teeth into a bright, very natural looking smile. Porcelain crowns also have the added reconstructive capacity to strengthen your teeth or, in conjunction with a dental bridge, to fill in gaps left by missing teeth.

Deep Bleaching
As you age, your teeth often become darker due to minerals penetrating your tooth enamel. This structural change creates less porous enamel, which is then more easily stained by drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine, or smoking. Applying a high concentration of oxidizing agent to the teeth forces oxygen through the enamel as the whitening agent breaks down, causing stains to disappear quickly without damaging your tooth structure. The bleaching agent is applied to your teeth with thin plastic trays for short periods of time. Ideally, the application trays should be well-fitted to retain the bleaching gel, ensuring even and full-tooth exposure to the gel. Trays will typically stay on your teeth for about 15–20 minutes. Trays are then removed and the procedure is repeated up to two more times. The bleaching agent is either carbamide peroxide, which breaks down in your mouth to form hydrogen peroxide, or hydrogen peroxide itself. The bleaching agent is typically between 9.5% - 15% hydrogen peroxide equivalent, so irritation to the soft tissue around teeth is minimized. A typical course of bleaching can produce dramatic improvements in the cosmetic appearance of a majority of stained teeth cases, most effectively with yellow discolored teeth.

Crest Whitestrips
Made by Proctor and Gamble, Crest Whitestrips have been in worldwide use since 2001 as a home remedy for discolored teeth and as an affordable alternative to Deep Bleaching or Zoom! whitening treatments. To receive the maximum benefit, Dr. Jeff recommends Crest Whitestrips Supreme, which is professional strength (14% hydrogen peroxide versus 6.5% for the typical strengths found in your local grocery or drugstore) and available only from a dental office. Like other forms of bleaching, the active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide, the same enamel-safe ingredient Dr. Jeff uses for his in-office treatments. Simply place the strips on your upper and lower teeth—they're designed to stay safely in place—once or twice a day, for about 30 minutes per session, as directed, remove them and you're done for the day. It's that simple. And when you treat yourself to a brighter smile, just like when you treat yourself to a haircut or pedicure, you'll feel great. (Crest Whitestrips are not recommended for children under 12.)

So ...
For just one moment, smile. Then think about it. Your smile is how you greet the world and your loved ones every day. Of course, it's also a big part of the first impressions you make. A recent study shows that people with whiter teeth appear more confident, are more likely to be hired for jobs, and even enjoy better dates. So whitening isn't just about caring for your teeth. It's about feeling your best and living life accordingly.
